Description
The Y-strap is used with to adjust how your pack carries. Using stabilizers with heavier loads can improve weight distribution on your back. For lighter loads, you may choose to forgo the Y-strap and simply clip the center compression strap directly to the haul loop.
There are two styles available, both of which attach to your pack using g-hooks.
Style A: This is the default for the . It has integrated load stabilizers and attaches to the Style A center strap with a plastic buckle. Adjustment of the stabilizers is via plastic ladderlocks. Weighs 15.7g | 0.55 oz.
Style B: This is the default for the . are sold separately and it's meant to be used with a Style B center strap with a g-hook. Adjustment of the stabilizers (sold separately) is via metal g-hooks. Weighs 6.2g | 0.22 oz.

If you use Style A on a Sassafras, you will not be able to connect the Style A center strap to the haul loop.
